What are Esports?

Online Competitive gaming or Esports is an online gaming competition among teams or Individual Players.

The most common video game types related to Esports are FPS (first-person shooter), MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena), Fighting, Card, Battle Royale, and RTS (real-time strategy) games.

Major Players were playing Esports for pleasure until the late 2000s when Professional gamers started to join competitive gaming then the viewership started increasing in these events through Video Streaming. By the 2010s, Esports was an Important factor in the Video Game Industry and many Game developers started designing their games for these events.

Most played games in Esports are League of Legends, Dota, CS: GO, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Valorant, Overwatch, Street Fighter, Super Smash Bros., StarCraft, and many more.

India positioned 16 on the delight list, making it a multi-billion dollar industry. 10 years prior, India’s internet gaming area was weak, with just 25 game engineers. DOTA 2 is one of the biggest ESport games, to give you context though we need to get back up, it all began with Warcraft 3 which was a real-time strategy game released for PCs way back in 2002. It was possible to create mods for the game which meant they could change the way the game was played or the way the game looked and one of these mods called Defence of the Ancients was shortened to DOTA.

If you are familiar with Warcraft it is very much about gathering resources and building up armies. However, this Mod shifted the focus to particular heroes that were immensely powerful and removed the resource gathering component almost completely. One designer of the original mods Steve feat went on to design league of legends while another designer called Icefrog went to create a sequel to the mod completely fleshed out an independent game called DOTA 2. Interestingly before we move on there was a third credited creator of Dota “Eul”, and it’s unclear where he went after this though it seems to be the popular consensus that he is out of the game completely.

3. League of Legend

League of Legends was released on October 27, 2009, for Windows. This is Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) Developed and Published by Riot games. In this game, two teams of players fight to defend and attack. Each team has to occupy and defend half of the map. Each player controls a character (Champion) with interesting abilities and differing styles of play. This Game is inspired by Defense of the Ancients and Warcraft III.

League of Legends is a free-to-play game. Keep an eye on how it works. You start by picking a champion (character) and there is a lot to choose from, and you found one with cool abilities but you hate his face? Don’t worry you can dress up with various skins. 4. Fortnite

Fortnite Released on July 25, 2017 (early access). In a nutshell, Fortnite is a Third-person shooter video game available on all consoles including mobile versions. Fortnite was developed by Epic Games and a company called People Can Fly. This game is still liked by people all over the world. 

On a story level, You play as a survivor in a zombie-like apocalypse and you should accumulate assets and fabricate fortifications close by different players. This fortress building Mechanic is truly what makes this game exceptional, with the ability to build and destroy most things in the game world.

This allows creativity, including building massive ramps and ladders to cross the entire map of the game. You can also straight-up fight these zombies, called husks in the game, by gathering weapons and ammunition.  

When the game first launched, the default mod was called Save the World. Where you can play in a four-man group and you must stop waves of husks, by storing up resources and building up your fort. 

This Cost as much as a normal video game would, however a new mod to the game was released and this mod was standalone and was free to download, called Battle Royale. This mod features 100 players in a match, where you can either play solo or in groups of up to four people, and you now face off against other real people, utilizing your shooting and fort-building skills to be the last one standing. As the match progresses, you must stay inside a giant circle that is slowly shrinking, with the goal that you can simply cover up on the edges and hope to dominate the match.

5. Call of Duty: Modern Warefare

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was released on October 29, 2003.  Call of Duty is a first-person shooting video game. This game is developed by Infinity Ward, Treyarch, Sledgehammer Games, Raven Software, And published by Activision. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a part of the Call of Duty franchise. The reason for the success of this game is the storyline and Battle Royal mod. This game is played and loved all over the world and played by every age group.
