What are Esports?

Online Competitive gaming or Esports is an online gaming competition among teams or Individual Players.

The most common video game types related to Esports are FPS (first-person shooter), MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena), Fighting, Card, Battle Royale, and RTS (real-time strategy) games.

Major Players were playing Esports for pleasure until the late 2000s when Professional gamers started to join competitive gaming then the viewership started increasing in these events through Video Streaming. By the 2010s, Esports was an Important factor in the Video Game Industry and many Game developers started designing their games for these events.

Most played games in Esports are League of Legends, Dota, CS: GO, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Valorant, Overwatch, Street Fighter, Super Smash Bros., StarCraft, and many more.

Esports in India:

India positioned 16 on the delight list, making it a multi-billion dollar industry. 10 years prior, India’s internet gaming area was weak, with just 25 game engineers. Today, there are more than 250 game designers in the country. A portion of the huge names in the business had effectively put resources into India’s gaming area, like Paytm, Tencent, Alibaba, and Nazara. The income created in sports generally came from organizations like Oppo and Asus.

1. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

CS: GO Released in 2012, It is a First-person shooting online multiplayer game that highlights teamwork, strategy, and gunplay. CS: GO has a large player base worldwide, and people love to play and watch video streams of this game.

Counter-Strike has a franchise and this Series began on Windows in 1999 and CS: GO is a Sequel of Counter-Strike: Source. In the initial phase, the game was just a basic fps game that began to grow rapidly… In 2013 first gun and knife skins were introduced by the developers. In one costly transaction, an over-excited Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Esports fan spent over $60,000 on a single weapon skin. After 9 years of release CS: GO is still Ranking in the Top 10 concurrent game list.

2. DOTA 2

DOTA 2 Released on July 9, 2013, a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) Video game was developed and published by valve. This Game Got Boom after Coming to Esports. People in the US Love to play this game. In this game, there are two teams of five players and each team gets their base and they have to defend their base. Each player has to control one character (Hero) and every hero has their unique ability and because of this people love this game.

DOTA 2 is one of the biggest ESport games, to give you context though we need to get back up, it all began with Warcraft 3 which was a real-time strategy game released for PCs way back in 2002. It was possible to create mods for the game which meant they could change the way the game was played or the way the game looked and one of these mods called Defence of the Ancients was shortened to DOTA.

If you are familiar with Warcraft it is very much about gathering resources and building up armies. However, this Mod shifted the focus to particular heroes that were immensely powerful and removed the resource gathering component almost completely. One designer of the original mods Steve feat went on to design league of legends while another designer called Icefrog went to create a sequel to the mod completely fleshed out an independent game called DOTA 2. Interestingly before we move on there was a third credited creator of Dota “Eul”, and it’s unclear where he went after this though it seems to be the popular consensus that he is out of the game completely.

3. League of Legend

League of Legends was released on October 27, 2009, for Windows. This is Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) Developed and Published by Riot games. In this game, two teams of players fight to defend and attack. Each team has to occupy and defend half of the map. Each player controls a character (Champion) with interesting abilities and differing styles of play. This Game is inspired by Defense of the Ancients and Warcraft III.

League of Legends is a free-to-play game. Keep an eye on how it works. You start by picking a champion (character) and there is a lot to choose from, and you found one with cool abilities but you hate his face? Don’t worry you can dress up with various skins. Once you get in the game the real party starts its nonstop epic actions and there is a strategy too.

Use whatever you can to destroy your opponent’s Swords, Bows, and many more. Still having trouble, Simply head to the shop and buy something. If you are Relaxed you’ll fit right in with other noobs but if you seek a challenge look no further this is your chance to prove yourself and unleash your inner greatness.

4. Fortnite

Fortnite Released on July 25, 2017 (early access). In a nutshell, Fortnite is a Third-person shooter video game available on all consoles including mobile versions. Fortnite was developed by Epic Games and a company called People Can Fly. This game is still liked by people all over the world. 

On a story level, You play as a survivor in a zombie-like apocalypse and you should accumulate assets and fabricate fortifications close by different players. This fortress building Mechanic is truly what makes this game exceptional, with the ability to build and destroy most things in the game world.

This allows creativity, including building massive ramps and ladders to cross the entire map of the game. You can also straight-up fight these zombies, called husks in the game, by gathering weapons and ammunition.  

When the game first launched, the default mod was called Save the World. Where you can play in a four-man group and you must stop waves of husks, by storing up resources and building up your fort. 

This Cost as much as a normal video game would, however a new mod to the game was released and this mod was standalone and was free to download, called Battle Royale. This mod features 100 players in a match, where you can either play solo or in groups of up to four people, and you now face off against other real people, utilizing your shooting and fort-building skills to be the last one standing. As the match progresses, you must stay inside a giant circle that is slowly shrinking, with the goal that you can simply cover up on the edges and hope to dominate the match.

5. Call of Duty: Modern Warefare

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was released on October 29, 2003.  Call of Duty is a first-person shooting video game. This game is developed by Infinity Ward, Treyarch, Sledgehammer Games, Raven Software, And published by Activision. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a part of the Call of Duty franchise. The reason for the success of this game is the storyline and Battle Royal mod. This game is played and loved all over the world and played by every age group.

In the initial stages, the main priority for the game is to set for World war II. Over the long haul, the series has seen games set amidst the Cold War, advanced universes, and space. As of April 2021, the series has sold over 400 million copies. Every year this company launches a game of this series which is a blockbuster., the series is checked by the Guinness World Records as the top-of-the-line first-person shooter game series.

A Career in Esports:

Esports is a very good career option and it will grow very well in the coming time and people are earning a lot from it even today, if you are thinking that you too will earn good money by going into Esports and becoming a player then this It may not be because there are tournaments in Esports and it is not necessary that you win all the tournaments but it is also not that nothing can happen by playing tournaments if you perform consistently well and you can earn well by playing tournaments but without becoming a player to work in Esports there are many jobs available and even if you play tournaments then you will not be able to earn much money.

All the players will be YouTubers and will be content creators, they will need a video editor for their channel and a graphic designer for thumbnails and they will contact you and you will get a monthly salary.

If you also want to go to Esports India, then there is no problem, you can go comfortably. But you play games well but no organization or team is taking you and you want to prove yourself that you play well then you should use a simple way every competitive game has a ranking, you grind it Get engaged but then you say your team doesn’t play well, your rank is affected, then you start playing with random people for ranks, the rank you will be on, your team also comes in the same rank, you can rank better than that.

With this, you can come into the eyes of the teams and if they like your profile then they will contact you. But the harsh reality is if you want to join Esports find a good squad otherwise solo is very difficult for you.
